Atari Flashback Portable

The Atari flashback Portable is the portable renewal of the Atari 2600 that is considered the mother of all consoles.

There are 2 versions of this laptop, but, we will only show you the most recent because it has more screens, battery life and pre-installed games.

☝️ How to install games in Atari Portable? Easy (without hack)

Apart from those that come in the console, we can install more games manually with an SD card (You must have at least 1GB to read). I’ll explain step by step how to install a list of games that does not have the console:

1. Insert the SD card into the computer and create a folder called “Game“
2. Enter this page and download the games you want. https://emulator.games/roms/atari-2600/
3. Once downloaded, put them in the “Game” folder that we did previously.
4. Once with the games on the SD card, insert the card in the console, being turned off.
5. Once you turn it on, press the left arrow
6. Hit button A.

How can I connect the console to the television?

This can be done by purchasing a 3.5 mm jack to scart jack or 3.5 mm jack to a ctr. This Jack 3.5 mm would go to the console and the other point to the television, without the need to change code (hack) or install Drivers.

The gaming experience on a tube television is pretty good, but if you manage to connect it to an LCD you can have problems with the size of the game or directly not work.

Characteristics and review

1. Control: It has an address button and a red action button (like the Atari 2600); the other 5 orange buttons are decoration. As for comfort, it will depend on the size of your hands, but in general it has good feelings.
2. Screen: It is an LCD of about 2.8 inches, which would be a medium size.
3. Audio: This is cute and regular, but keep in mind that the music and sound effects are quite simple.
4. Battery : ? this one is made of lithium, similar to the one that has the telephones. Due to the low demand of the games and the quality of the battery, it has a pretty good autonomy to endure all day.
5. Ports: It has a slot for sd card (to install more games of the 70 pre-installed), has 2 jacks 3.5 mm (one to connect headphones and the other to connect the console to the television) and the charging port tipi Mini -USB to load the console.
6. Other: At the top it also has the volume controller and a led that tells us if the console is on.

Conclusions Who is the console for?

The console is perfect for people who want to play something fast or who like challenging games. The main problem you might have, if you have very large hands, is the size of the console. If you plan to use the laptop whenever you are at home it is better to buy the domestic version.
